HMK15 operates on the principle that a saturated salt solution can produce a certain amount of relative humidity in the air above, and then the humidity probe or transmitter reading can be adjusted accordingly. This method is widely accepted and used in many * laboratories. Two or three different salt solutions are usually available depending on the use.

HMK15 works based on the fact that a saturated salt solution produces a definite relative humidity in the air above it. The reading of humidity probe or transmitter can then be adjusted accordingly. This generally accepted and reliable method is used in many laboratories to calibrate humidity meters. There are usually two or three salt solutions used, with different calibration salts selected depending on the application.

Certified calibrated salt

HMK15 can be ordered with certified and pre-determined calibrated salt. Vaisala Measurement Standards Laboratory (MSL) will sample and calibrate each lot.

A calibrated thermometer

HMK15 can be ordered with a thermometer which is used to measure temperature during calibration. It can also be used to check the accuracy of the temperature measurement of the transmitter.
